About me
Currently studying art. My major is studio art with a concentration in photography and a minor in graphic design. I am currently in a spot around my senior year. Although I don't know what I'll do after school next year, I am trying to follow God's leading in my choices and decisions.
| interests | My interests cover many areas, but often I feel like a jack of all trades and master of none. Anything from light and sound to mathematics and history interests me. Right now I am learning more about my passion for God as He reveals Himself in life and in art. |
| favorite music | Classical, Boroque, and Romantic. Fiddling is another favorite- as my personal violin-playing tends to be more reserved and "within the lines". I also enjoy the folk music of Western Europe- particularly Scotland, England, and Wales. |
| favorite movies | Master and Commander, LOTR, Narnia, The Pianist, The Hiding Place, The Nutcracker (with Mikhail Baryshnikov) |
| favorite games | Durtch Blitz, Fast Scrabble, frizbee |
| favorite books | The Bible and right now anything by Clive Staples (C.S.) Lewis, because I appreciate his heart and his insights. |
| school | Taylor University |
| occupation | student |

Telos
In my Contemporary Christian Belief class, we've been talking a lot about telos lately. Telos is a Greek word that means "Literally ‘end’. This word is used in philosophy to denote the "end" or "ends" towards which thinking moves”. We have been using this word in Philosophy to talk about the end purpose for which something was formed in an attempt to show hat all things have meaning, whether we like it or note. And its not always an easy concept to grasp like when we say that suffering has meaning. And here I would quote Peter Kreeft in his book Making Sense Out of Suffering. Here he says that, “Love is strengthened and protected by suffering” (page 122). God uses suffering to work with our human love and strengthen it as well as our desire for Him.
